Sunday Oct. 23 | 6:30-9:30pm
National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, Cincinnati OH
Self guided tours of the Freedom Center will be complemented by pop-up performances throughout various locations in the NURFC by partner organizations, including Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra, Thomas More University Chamber Choir, Cincinnati Boychoir, Cincinnati Youth Choir, Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra’s Classical Roots Community Chorus, MUSE Cincinnati Women’s Choir, and Voices of Hartford. A detailed schedule of the pop-up performances will be published at a later date.
Cincinnati Young Black Professionals will be onsite with information about their organization.
Their physical location in downtown Cincinnati is just a few steps from the banks of the Ohio River, the great natural barrier that separated the slave states of the South from the free states of the North. Since opening in 2004, they have filled a substantial void in our nation’s cultural heritage. Rooted in the stories of the Underground Railroad, they illuminate the true meaning of inclusive freedom by presenting permanent and special exhibits that inspire, public programming that provoke dialogue and action, and educational resources that equip modern abolitionists.
Their mission is to pursue inclusive freedom by promoting social justice for all, building on the principles of the Underground Railroad.
