“Summertime, and the livin’ is easy…” CCO’s new concertmaster Celeste Golden Boyer will lead a concert filled with lively arrangements of some of the most famous American songs, from Gershwin’s “Summertime” and “It Ain’t Necessarily So” to Henri Vieuxtemps’ variations on “Yankee Doodle.” Guests will also hear Dvořák’s “American” string quartet showcasing a style frequently identified with American folk music. Kick back with a cocktail inspired by the red, white and blue underneath the tin ceiling of the Liberty Exhibition Hall for an evening that is sure to have you humming along.
